Natural Eye Care

To prevent eye form damage its care is very necessary. It is best to avoid poor light when reading or using computers or watching television for long hours. Very intense light or using very hot or very cold water on the face and head is also not healthy for the eyes. Applying few drops of almond, coconut or sesame oil around the eyes prevents dark circles.

After every hour before a computer screen, close your eyes gently for 30 seconds to relax them.
Don't wear contact lenses for extended periods of time or overnight as this leads to complication.
Use disposable tissues instead of handkerchiefs to wipe eyes, as they are more hygienic.

  • Get into the habit of starting the day by splashing your open eyes with cold water, so that they are thoroughly cleaned and stimulated.
  • Make sure to remove all traces of eye make up before going to bed for it might cause infection in the roots of eyelashes.
  • Do not rub or stretch the skin under the eyes-it is very delicate and is easily damaged.
  • The skin around the eyes and eye-lids is very soft and delicate. Rubbing a little of almond oil, around your eyes before you go to bed, would keep the skin soft and glowing. The juice of a water-melon is also a very good substitute of almond oil, particularly in summers when you might like to avoid using greasy oil. This juice also takes away the wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Eating cabbage and carrots is very beneficial for the eyes. These should be eaten raw. It is all right to drink cabbage and carrot juice mixed together or separately.
